Morgan 3 Wheeler

The Morgan motor company started with a three-wheeler car in 1909 and was built through to the early fifties. In 2011 Morgan once again introduced the 3 Wheeler, using the basic design elements of the original 3 Wheeler, but updated to meet current standards. It is a unique concept, offering character and charm, speed and excitement. And more importantly, it provides an element often missing in current cars – fun!

The new Morgan 3 Wheeler is powered by a V-twin air cooled 2.0 litre engine, made by American specialist engine builder, S&S. The car weighs only around 525 kilograms in total.

Production for UK and Europe commenced in late 2011. Currently this model is not homologated for the Australian market. Morgan Cars Australia is working with the Morgan Motor Company to investigate the technical feasibility of complying with the special set of regulations for 3-wheeled vehicles in Australia.

The new Morgan 3 Wheeler has now successfully passed 3 separate crash tests specifically for the Australian market.  Various other Australian Design Rule related issues have been addressed and incorporated into the first ADR test and evaluation unit which arrived in Melbourne in March 2013.  This first Australian standard 3 Wheeler is currently undergoing further local certification evaluation and testing.

It is expected that the ADR certification will be completed during the first half of 2013 and production vehicles built during the second half of this year.

Once final ADR certification is received this website will be updated with full specification and pricing details.

In the interim, Morgan Cars Australia has a waiting list for potential future 3 Wheeler customers and will be keeping potential customers informed of any developments on homologation and possible start of production for the Australian market.
